Here are the last of my travel photos, this time from lovely Lucerne! As we walked around exploring this gorgeous city we took plenty of breaks to refuel at bakeries and chocolate shops along the way. There was a bakery on almost every corner, no joke. We were in heaven!
The ornate architectural detail of the buildings in old town Lucerne was astounding, and we stayed at a hotel smack in the middle of it. We spent plenty of time relaxing on the rooftop deck, which was the perfect spot to watch and listen to the city below. A marching band wound its way through the streets, canons fired occasionally from a nearby castle, street musicians wandered, and the clip-clop of horses’ hooves on cobblestone won’t be something I forget anytime soon.
Our last morning in Switzerland (just hours before our flight home was leaving Zurich) the weather finally cleared up, so we rushed to catch the cog train to the top of Mt. Pilatus to see the jaw-dropping view. It was such a strange feeling to be standing on a mountaintop so high that the clouds were below us. After snapping a few photos we had to rush to catch the next cable car down, but our quick trip up Mt. Pilatus was totally worth the mad dash to make it to the airport on time!
